High growth of pharmaceutical industries in the country has close relation with the increasing performance of pharmaceutical companies which has kept on expanding their business by spending great investment in order to jack up the production capacity. They also launch new products. These steps have successfully raised the sales turnover, profit and asset of the companies. Based on investigation conducted by CDMI that in 2011 the performance of almost all pharmaceutical company groups made spectacular sales turnover and profits. They include The KALBE FARMA Group with sales turnover of Rp. 10.9 trillion followed by The TEMPO Group of Rp. 5.7 trillion, The KIMIA FARMA Group of Rp. 3.4 trillion, The BIO FARMA Group estimated Rp. 1.3 trillion, The INDOFARMA Group of Rp. 1.2 trillion and then The DARYA-VARIA Group, The MERCK Group, The PHAPROS Group and The TAISHO Group. Positive performance is also shown by foreign pharmaceutical company groups in the last four years including The BAYER Group in the first position followed by The AVENTIS Group, The PFIZER Group and The OTSUKA Group in fourth position.
