My object in undertaking this work was to portray, as vividly as I could, the Seven Saints upon whom I look as my Spiritual Fathers, and the Order of which they were the originators and first members. As every household prides itself on possessing life-like portraits of its parents, so have I wished to obtain, both for myself and for others, an accurate sketch of these Holy Patriarchs, and an authentic account of their work.
