The birth of International law has its roots in Hinduism. In Ramayana, lots of Doots (Diplomats) were sent to Lanka for the communication purposes and we had seen the same in the Chandragupta’s Courts too. From there we got the concept of Diplomats and Diplomats’ immunities. Moreover concept of Hinduism revolves around the Dharma of a human being towards its duties. This essay includes the analogical deductions of the origin of the international humanitarian law is from the ancient texts of Hinduism. The essay also tries to trace back to the ancient Indian warfare methods and techniques to establish the correlation and roots of international law and international humanitarian law.
