Food security is one of the most pressing issues worldwide. Minimising food losses and waste along supply chains can make a big difference to better the situation. 'Save Food' looks at developing solutions along food supply chains by detailed causal analysis in case studies, and awareness raising among, and involvement of supply chain actors and stakeholders, including politicy makers, researchers, development organisations and donors. Robert van Otterdijk, Agro-Industry Officer at FAO, presented a concrete methodology for case studies in field – within the Global Initiative on Food Loss and Waste Reduction of FAO and Messe Düsseldorf.
