Short Term Hydrothermal Scheduling Using Evolutionary Programming

In this paper, Evolutionary Programming method is used for short term hydrothermal scheduling which minimize the total fuel cost while satisfying the constraints. This paper developed and studies the performance of evolutionary programs in solving hydrothermal scheduling problem. The effectiveness of the developed program is tested for the system having one hydro and one thermal unit for 24 hour load demand. Numerical results show that highly near-optimal solutions can be obtained by Evolutionary Programming.
