The probability of two-spin cross relaxation is calculated with allowance for gradual transfer of energy from the two flipped spins to the remaining spins of the system. The rare of loss of energy by the pair, which depends on the way in which the field of the external spins varies, is estimated in the framework of the random-field method for discontinuous and continuous variations of this field. It is found that in the latter case the flow of energy from the pair to the other spins of the system is slower.
